Hi peeps, long time no post. This post is made in line with the World Food Day (16th Oct). As the saying goes, we are what we eat, but as the world food productions have changed so much in the past 10 years, we might not be eating what we thought we are. And its even worse for processed food, statistics show that 70% of the processed food, like ham/french fries/tomato ketchup are not really made it. Stuff like preservative, low quality flour, lotsa salt and sugar are added into them to make them taste great. So what are you really eating? In the few documentaries that i downloaded, even stuff like vege and meat are not quite what they used to be. Everything is now made to grow, fatter, faster and cheaper... below is the trailer of the show Food Inc:
So guys, lets lead a healthier lifestyle! Just cutting down one snack and drink a day is gonna make all the difference. Cook more often, best way to control/know what you are eating is to cook it yourself. And lastly, FFF ( Fuck Fast Food ). Personally i dun like fast food. No really, i dun. Right after watching Supersize Me. Sure most of you have heard about the recent hype of the Macdonald Happy Meal that did not break down even after six months. Click here if you have no idea. Well, no matter how real the experiment was, no one can deny the fact that Macdoodle stuff have high salt and fats, generally unhealthy.... In their defense, they say that their patty is made from 100% with just salt and pepper. But hey, what about their beloved fries? Take a look:
Why am i turning to a health freak all of a sudden? I'm sure you guys know that i'm the unhealthiest of the lot. I drink, i smoke, i drink soya sauces for breakfast, i love meat and i dun take any chlorophyll. No, i'm not turning gay or into some Captain Planet shit.... Recently i've been to a medical checkup. Everything was aright cept for my blood pressure, overweight (all which i already knew prior to the checkup). But the med test included something call the liver function test, and it shows that my liver enzyme was way over the top, thrice the normal level to be exact. Should not bore you guys with the details but one important thing about it is that its not a diseases by itself, its a sign of something in your liver is screwed, like fatty liver, jaundice etc. Basically it boils down to my 孟 lifestyle... All those late nights, alcohol and cigs. If one can choose a way to die, most people will want to die as painless as possible. Lying in the hospital bed for months/years before going is not the ideal way to go for most of us. Although statically I'll be the first to reach B18, i dun wanna go there so early to wait for you guys for a mj session. After a consultation with our liver/bile expert, Doc Smelly Sim, its been weeks since i "changed" my lifestyle: exercising, cutting ciggy, eating right. I do feel good, best part is that migraine gone! lost a couple of pounds too. Another medical is scheduled next monday, hope to get a better reading this time, prove that this lifestyle is worth it. Thats it from me, till next time, please stay tune for the next episode of "DK WOT" (dekang's wall of text).
P/S: Congrats to Don on his new hse. See you guys this sunday.
